Romero Pineda & Asociados celebra los ganadores de su Premio de Propiedad Intelectual y anuncia la edición 2026

Since 2022, Romero Pineda & Asociados has annually recognized Salvadorans and organizations whose talent, creativity, and innovation have made a significant impact on the field of Intellectual Property. In each edition, our firm highlights the originality and social, cultural, or economic impact of the nominees, reaffirming our commitment to the protection, defense, and monetization of intellectual creations in El Salvador.

Winners from previous years:

2022Seven outstanding nominees were recognized, including Emma Schönenberg (Emmalicia), the winner, the Azoro Cultural Association, Maura López (Maurita), Rodrigo Li Siu (Don Li), Eva Innocenti, Visanto's, and Rick Zachrisson, for their creativity and contribution to Salvadoran cultural heritage. This edition was dedicated to prominent Salvadorans who represent a significant social or cultural contribution, whose works generate intellectual creation deserving of such recognition for their originality and creativity.

 2023: This edition was dedicated to women inventors, creators, and entrepreneurs, recognizing Lula Mena as the winner, with María Eugenia Panameño in second place and honorable mentions for Alejandra Nolasco and Paola Miranda of the Azoro Cultural Association. This edition celebrated the pioneering work of women inventors, creators, and entrepreneurs from around the world.

 2024: Sandra Lisseth Meléndez Martínez, director of the Design School at Dr. José Matías Delgado University, was honored for her work in preserving, disseminating, and promoting national artistic expressions, fostering creativity and design with a social focus. This edition was dedicated to highlighting the contributions of creators, inventors, and entrepreneurs to innovation and creativity.

 2025: The career of Pencho Duque, a radio announcer and promoter of musical innovation and broadcasting in El Salvador, was highlighted, emphasizing the impact of his work on the industry and society. The edition celebrated the contributions of creators, inventors, and entrepreneurs to musical innovation and creativity.

For the 2026 edition, The World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) has chosen to focus its celebration on sport, with the theme: “IP and Sport: Ready, Set, Innovate!” This approach aims to showcase how patents, trademarks, and designs drive innovation in sports, enhance athlete performance, and inspire fans worldwide.

Within this framework, Romero Pineda & Associates seeks to recognize and highlight creativity not only in artistic works or technological innovations, but also in the human interpretation that gives social meaning to knowledge and sport. This recognition reinforces the idea that Intellectual Property protects and values all types of innovation, including those that transform the way we enjoy, understand, and participate in sport.

The winner of Intellectual Property Award 2026, The fifth edition will be announced next. April 26, World Intellectual Property Day, a day that celebrates Salvadoran creativity, innovation and talent in all its manifestations.
