National holidays in El Salvador, in May 2018

Dear Clients and Friends:

ROMERO PINEDA reminds you that in accordance with Salvadoran legislation, paid leave is established on May 1 of each year for the celebration of “Labor Day,” as well as May 10 of each year in commemoration of “Labor Day.” Mother". Both holidays are applicable to both public and private sector workers.

Work centers that work on any of these days must pay an extraordinary salary made up of the ordinary salary plus a surcharge from the latter's 100%. Likewise, if they work overtime or work at night, the calculation for the payment of the surcharges will be made based on the aforementioned extraordinary salary.
