Associate and Coordinator of the Intellectual Property area. As the area’s coordinator, Susana is involved in providing legal advice on the management of intellectual property assets for the firm. Additionally, she oversees the Patents, Copyright, and Domains Unit.

 

Susana boasts extensive experience of over 20 years, encompassing expertise in the firm’s litigation department and in matters of confidentiality, industrial secrets, and counseling in the labor sector aimed at protecting clients’ intellectual property.

She currently provides specialized legal advice at a regional level for each of the patent, utility model, industrial design, copyright, and domain name procedures within the Firm. She has established herself as an expert in industrial designs and utility models, generating protection criteria that have been applied by various intellectual property offices worldwide. Additionally, Susana advises on corporate transactions such as assignments, mergers, and other corporate procedures affecting these intellectual property assets. Her client portfolio includes internationally renowned companies.

 

She specializes in protecting and advising projects related to cultural, educational, and traditional knowledge matters. She has served as an expert in academic projects and as an evaluator of inventions in renowned higher education institutions in El Salvador.

 

She participated in the RP&A HER Program, focused on providing specialized legal assistance to women entrepreneurs. Subsequently, she joined the firm’s socially responsible program, RP&A INNOVATION PROJECT, aimed at entrepreneurs and small business owners.

 

Susana is an active member of the Salvadoran Association of Intellectual Property – ASPI, a member of the Salvadoran Association of Industrialists – ASI, and the Official Chamber of Commerce of Spain in El Salvador.

 

Besides her Bachelor’s degree in Legal Sciences from the Francisco Gavidia University and her notary certification, she has undertaken various workshops in patent drafting by the Inter-American Association of Intellectual Property (ASIPI) and courses on International Patent Jurisprudence. She completed a diploma in Managerial Skills from the Leadership Center at the School of Economics and Business (ESEN).

 

She holds a diploma in Corporate Legal Advisory from the Postgraduate Directorate of the Universidad Centroamericana José Simeón Cañas (UCA) and has received training in Mediation and Arbitration in Intellectual Property, among other courses and diplomas. Currently, she is enrolled in a diploma program in Civil and Commercial Procedural Law offered by the Technological University of El Salvador.
