ROMERO PINEDA & ASOCIADOS reminds you that pursuant to Article 190 of the Labor Code, the 15th of September of each year is established as paid holiday leave, applicable to the employees of the public and private sectors in order to commemorate the “Independence Day”.
In this regard, employees working in the referred holiday must be paid an extraordinary wage composed of regular wage plus an extra charge of 100%. Also, if they work overtime or work a night shift, the calculation for the payment of these extra charges will be based on the aforementioned extraordinary wage.
