Upcoming National Holiday in El Salvador on May, 2018

Dear Clients and Friends:

ROMERO PINEDA & ASOCIADOS reminds you that according to Salvadoran legislation, May 1st of each year is established as paid holiday leave, in order to celebrate “Labor Day”, as well as May 10th to commemorate “Mother’s Day”. Both holidays are applicable to the employees of the public and private sectors.

In this regard, employees working in the referred holidays must be paid an extraordinary wage composed of regular wage plus an extra charge of 100%. Also, if they work overtime or work a night shift, the calculation for the payment of extra charges will be based on the aforementioned extraordinary salary.

For additional information and legal assistance on this or any other Corporate and/or Labor matters, please feel free to contact Beatriz Merino, Associate/ Coordinator of the Labor Unit at (503) 2505-5555 or email bmerino@romeropineda.com.

We will be pleased to assist you.
