Mrs. Marcela Mancia has been Partner at Romero Pineda & Asociados since 2007. She leads the firm’s Intellectual Property Division, and is responsible for handling major trademark portfolio from clients operating in diverse industries.

Her responsibilities at the Firm include corresponding with new and established local and foreign clients; evaluating trademark searches and feasible registrability options; preparing legal opinions; guiding clients in preparing documents to best overcome office actions, rejections and objections; interacting with IP authorities to solve routine and special problems; organizing the legal and support staff to best meet the work load; analyzing clients` trademark and sanitary registration portfolios; interacting with the correspondent health authorities in El Salvador to solve routine and special problems related to the sanitary registrations.

Her corporate practice includes filing of trademarks, trade name, and slogan applications; recordals of trademark assignments, license of use, renewals, changes of name/address; answers to preliminary rejections and/or office actions issued in the trademark registration procedures; filing of sanitary applications, prosecutions, imports, commercialization and obtention of sanitary registration and correspondent certificates of free sale.

Marcela obtained her law degree from Universidad Dr. José Matías Delgado in San Salvador, in 2003. In 2003 also was authorized as Attorney. She obtained a diploma in Legal English at Pontificia Universidad Javeriana en El Salvador. She has been working on different Committees of the International Trademark Association (INTA).
