Mr. Gilberto Fajardo has been an Associate Attorney of Romero Pineda & Asociados, and member of the Intellectual Property Division since 2001.
Gilberto is in charge of the post-registrations area from the Intellectual Property Division. His legal practice also includes Mercantile Law; Family Law; Labor Law; Administrative Law.
His responsabilities at the Firm include supervision of post-registration area of the Intellectual Property Division, which includes legal advice to local and foreign clients, study of documents related to registration of assignments, renewals and license of use agreements of trademarks, as well as changes of name and domicile of trademark’s owners.
He also responds to all office actions issued by the Trademark Office against these procedures. He manages and maintains large trademark portfolios from local and foreign clients.
Gilberto obtained his law degree from Universidad Francisco Gavidia in San Salvador, in 2003. In 2007 was authorized as Attorney and in 2008 as Notary Public. He has attended seminars on Notary Law, Registral Law, Administrative Law, Antitrust Law and Arbitration. In 2003, he won the third place in Latin-American contest “Law Students Award”, organized by the Inter-American Bar Association with his graduation work “Mercantile Law as Universal Law for America: ¿A need or an illusion?” He also received in 2004 fourth place for the scholarship award organized between the Inter-American Association of Intellectual Property (ASIPI) and the Franklin Pierce Law Center with his work “The Madrid System for the International Registration of Marks in El Salvador and Latin America: ¿the solution or the problem?” He is pursuing his masters degree in Enterprise Law at Universdad José Simeón Cañas.
