Mr. Antonio Méndez has been a partner of Romero Pineda & Asociados since 2007. Antonio focuses in advising the clients of the Firm on the impact of tax laws, strategies to achieve tax efficiencies, specialized due diligence in connection with energy, telecommunications and general corporate Mergers and Acquisitions, corporate securities, distribution contract issues, financial transactions and distribution contracts.
Before joining the Firm, Antonio worked as a main advisor for the Salvadoran Governmental entity that executed the telecommunication privatization process in El Salvador. In addition to the process of organization and sale of the previously state-owned telecommunications company, he was involved in the formulation of the legal instruments that actually govern telecommunication activities in El Salvador. In addition, Antonio served as Director of the Consumer Protection Bureau. He acquired first hand experience with the issues related to anticompetitive and consumer protection regulation and practice.
Antonio graduated from Georgetown University, Washington, D.C. in 1995 with a degree in Economics. He obtained his law degree from Universidad Dr. José Matías Delgado in San Salvador, in 1997. He is a Professor of Economics, Constitutional Law and Philosophy of Law at Dr. Jose Matías Delgado University.
