Mario starts his working experience as a student, holding
diverse positions in the judicial system. He obtained his law
degree from Universidad Centroamericana José Simeón Cañas, San
Salvador, in 1989 and was authorized as Notary Public by the
Supreme Court of Justice in 1990.
For a period of 16 years, Mario holds diverse positions in
private banks, as was appointed as Legal Manager and advisor of
the factoring division of Banco Salvadoreño Financial Group, now
HSBC. He acted as President of the Legal Commission of the
Salvadoran Banking Association (ABANSA) and is a founder of the
Commercial Law Association and a member of the Board of
Directors of the Salvadoran Banking Law Association.
He has participated in diverse banking law forums organized by
the Latin American Banking Law Federation. His post graduate
studies include a Course in Commercial Law at Universidad de
Salamanca, Spain, in 1997 and participation in the International
Legal Aspects Forum sponsored by Georgetown-Incae.
He has been a consultant and notarial services provider for
recognized institutions, such as the Multisectorial Investment
Bank and the Centralamerican Economic Integration Bank.
Mario joins the firm as Partner of the Banking and Financial
Division, assisting foreing and local banking and financial
institutions, as well as private lenders in financial
structuring and capital obtention.
