Romero Pineda & Asociados organizes meeting between Central American Court of Justice and prominent regional law firms

The seminar "The Regulations of the Central American Integration System (‘SICA’), the Prejudicial Process and the Communitary Law" was held February 21st and 22nd in San Salvador. The event was a gathering of the Magistrates of the Central American Court of Justice and attorneys representing highly recognized law firms in Central America.

Romero Pineda & Asociados led the organization of this seminar to provide attendees an update about international law in response to the growing trends of legal globalization. The event took place in the midst of negotiations between the regional entities and the European Union towards an Association Agreement. The European Union supported the event through the Support Program for Central American Regional Integration ("PAIRCA").

The Central American Court of Justice is the permanent Supranational Organ of SICA with mandatory general jurisdiction. It works to guarantee the legality of institutions in the region based on the respect for the Communitary Law (law in common to the central american countries), an effort of Judicial Integration.

The seminar began with an address by the President of the Supreme Court of Justice of El Salvador, Dr. Agustín García Calderón. Speakers included government officers such as the incoming president of the Central American Court of Justice, Dr. Francisco Darío Lobo Lara (Honduras) and the Chief of Staff of the Salvadoran government, Lic. Eduardo Ayala Grimaldi.

The outgoing president of the Central American Court of Justice, Dr. Ricardo Acevedo Peralta (El Salvador), acknowledged the invaluable contribution of Romero Pineda & Asociados and the firm’s founder, Dr. Roberto Romero Pineda, to the development of the seminar.
