The Moore Company announces a second investment in El Salvador

San Salvador, December 9th, 2009

The Moore Company, based in Rhode Island, United States of America, establishes once more business activities in El Salvador. This time with Darlington Fabrics, a company that produces high-quality elastic fabrics, meant for the manufacturing of sports and medical garments.

ROMERO PINEDA & ASOCIADOS will provide all the legal advice related to the installment of a new manufacturing facility. The first of the three-stage process will allot a 12 Million Dollars investment, generating over 100 direct and indirect jobs and attracting other manufacturers to buy the raw materials offered by Darlington Fabrics, being one of the most solid investments made in El Salvador at this time.

Some of these companies will have the facility of installing themselves in the country to manufacture products such as short pants, sport clothing or medical bandages, since Darlington Fabrics will produce a wide range of sophisticated elastic fabrics, indispensable for the manufacturing of these products, besides those so-called “intelligent fabrics”, which allow a certain amount of solar rays through to let perspiration dry, among other features. The arrival of Darlington Fabrics will contribute to the strengthening of the textile cluster established in the country.

Darlington Fabrics uses high-end technology that will be shared among salvadorian technicians, increasing the level of employments generated. The new facilities will be environmentally friendly, provided with a series of systems to save electricity and higher standards than those required by local laws for purification of the water and cleaning of emanations, with the use of innovative electron-based filters.

Despite the new fiscal reform being implemented in 2010, the investment being made will not be affected in any way, since the free zone regime will not be modified by these reforms.

To advise the recent investment, ROMERO PINEDA & ASSOCIADOS has designated Linda Pleitez (Associate) and José Roberto Romero (Partner). Mr. Romero is a member of the Board of Directors of Darlington Fabrics El Salvador, as well of the Board of the business created by the first investment of this enterprise, George C. Moore El Salvador, which strengthens the confidence the clients have on the firm.

The start of operations is expected on October of 2010.
